Case Study: Population health and wellbeing solutions
BroadReach, based in Cape Town, SA and Zurich, Switzerland, is a consulting firm founded in 2003 that had developed a sophisticated, cloud-based enterprise analytics and workflow system it was delivering to healthcare systems in the developing world. The company wished to transform from a consulting model to a software company to increase its impact, and create more value in the business. In addition, BroadReach wanted to explore opportunities in new markets and geographies, and raise capital from strategic partners able to help grow the business.
A KBT partner helped BroadReach develop and refine its software business model and plan, identify potential investors and partners, and execute the fundraising and partnering process. BroadReach closed an institutional investment from Partners Group Impact Investments, the impact fund affiliated with Zurich-based Partners Group. Strategic partnership with Microsoft and a major consulting firm were also put in place.
For more than a decade, BroadReach™ has partnered with governments, multinational health organizations, donors, and private sector companies in more than 20 countries to improve the health and wellbeing of underserved populations. BroadReach™ has developed a data-driven platform, BroadReach™ Vantage, to increase the impact of its own work. Today, it operates at the heart of diverse organizations around the globe working to make substantive improvements to population health and wellness.
